Shell To Increase Malaysia Oil Investments
Shell announced on Friday that it intends to spend RM1.3bil on upstream activities in Malaysia. The focus will be on gas investments in order to hike production.
Today, the company produces 2’500 million standard cubic feet a day, half of country’s total output. Over the next five years, the number of platforms should be raised from 6 to 17.
The additional gas will be converted to liquefied natural gas (LNG) and shipped to Japanese, Taiwanese and South Korean markets.
